All people are created equal

Since 1909 the penny as we know it today hasn’t changed one bit. It is time for a new face to be placed on such a seen item. But who would it be or what would this new picture represent? America has many symbols to choose from; the bald eagle, stars and stripes, the U.S.A itself, and many other inspiring people. However, I feel the best new image to print on the penny would be none of the above. On the new penny there should be a quote to best describe this nation such as, “all people are created equal” and around this quote there should be thirteen starts to represent the thirteen colonies. This quote would represent why America came to be in the first place. Our nation strives to be free, to be equal, and to be the land of opportunities. So why should we change the penny to just one person when many others helped America get where it is today.

Maybe give examples and of times that many people helped america become what it is today and go into detail, it would make it more interesting and lengthen the essay.

I think this is a great start, however you could go more in depth with this. Grab the readers attention more. This argument has a lot of potential.

I do agree that it would be nice to change Lincoln's face on the penny to a quote such as "all people are created equal" like you stated. It goes together with what Abraham Lincoln has originaly done for our country. He strived to give the people of the United States equal rights. To now show respect to the people of our country would be great. Nice work!

I like how you started this, but maybe you could give some examples on how America became to be what it is today. It's a little short and leaves me wanting more detail.

I think this is a wonderful thought, however, while all are created equal, all are not equal. In today's society, there is still racisim, sexism, materialism, and so on. It would be nice if this statement were to remain true, then seeing this on a penny would would have meaning.
