Everyday we see that copper coin we call a penny with Abraham Lincoln’s face on the front, but do we ever think about why he’s there? Of course because he was an important president with an impact on America’s history, but do we ever think about who else could be on there, that we may even know today? I think that Bill Clinton should be on the U.S. penny starting next year.
Bill Clinton should be on the penny next year, in my opinion, because he was one of the best presidents we’ve had to date. And although his scandalous reputation has stuck with him maybe more than his political achievements, he is still worthy of being printed on the back of an American coin. Not only is his past occupation as Presidency a deciding factor behind his worthiness of the coin, but also what his occupation as Presidency meant for him while he was in office. Bill Clinton, a democrat, was extremely focused on having equality in America, and helping those in need. The penny is a good coin to choose for Clinton because of his focus on minorities and a penny to him seemed to matter the same for any other middle class person or lower class person as well.
America’s economy during his time of presidency also was at one of its best times in years. To think back to the 90’s and how low gas prices and grocery prices were is thought to be unbelievable nowadays. He knew how to focus on our economy and save money for every American to the last penny. All of this evidence shows why he is a good candidate for being on the copper penny we use to this day; to have a reminder of whom really took that penny’s worth into consideration when running the country.
President Clinton was also a democrat, which really gives me a reason to think that he should be on the penny, instead of Lincoln, who indeed was a republican, because in all reality republicans do not focus on those in need nevertheless think of the penny as an important piece of currency to have. A penny for a republican is that of significance as a minority is to them. A coin or any piece of currency I think should be carefully made with a lot reasoning behind why a certain person is put on it, that way it is more special and personal to our country’s very own history.

Clear thesis stating beliefs on Clinton's viability as a choice for the penny with moderately developed supporting arguments, however these arguments were more statements than facts. Its one thing to say that Clinton was focused on equality in America, but its another thing to say how he was focused on doing so.
Another thing that stood out for me was the last paragraph. While Lincoln was a Republican, the Republicans of the 19th century were far different than the Republicans of the modern era and thus kind of renders that point moot.
Overall it's a well written essay with some room for improvement. Given more time and the opportunity to revise, this essay will improve.
We should pay homage to bill for sure. His excellent record of presidential actions make alot of presidents seem like nothing. He is very widely over-looked because of his reputation, good point there. awesome paragraph structure and good details.
Well written, this essay was very detailed and brought up alot of good points.
There was a very clear thesis and introduction to this essay, which was great. I think you could use some facts to back up the claims about what Clinton was all about when he was in office, but it was a well written essay.
