The penny has had the same face on it for a long time. It's time for a change. I think Bill Gates would make a great replacement for Abraham Lincoln.
Bill Gates has made a big impact in the 20th century. He brought technology to our homes and enabled us to use computers easily with his Microsoft Windows operating system. Computers were around before then, but were much more difficult to use.
Today, computers help us with a variety of tasks. We can communicate with anyone in the world with the touch of a button, or share pictures and videos just as easily. It’s a lot easier to stay organized, especially for a business, whether it has to do with financial information, statistics, or records. Information is so much easier to obtain using the internet. Almost anything you can think of or want to learn about can be found on the internet.
In my personal experience, computers have helped me to accomplish so many things that would either have taken a long time to do, or would not have been possible to do otherwise. When it comes to school work, I can save everything I’ve done without needing a closet full of papers. I can also talk to many people at the same time, which is very convenient. Whenever I think of something that I want to know more about, especially for school, or just about anything that interests me, it’s able to be done with a few mouse clicks and some keystrokes at a keyboard. It would be hard to imagine life without a computer now that I’ve gotten so used to it.
There are endless possibilities of what can be done with computers, which originated with Bill Gates creation of Microsoft Windows. I’m sure that many people would agree with me that he was one of the biggest influences in the 20th century, and that’s the reason his face should be on the penny.

as much as i believe that technology will be the imminent downfall of the US, i must agree with you. not only is bill gates one of the richest people around, but everywhere you look nowadays, you will see something that he has had an impact on, more so than some presidents. nice job
PS - even if he didnt get voted onto the penny, hes got enough money to create his own currency sometime in the near future, so its all good.
My initial thought when I was beginning this projuct was to put Bill Gates on the Penny as well, and I believe he has done a lot in the technological advancement of our society, however, I think he already has a great impact on our world, and I don't think we need to see his face on the penny too.
I think if bill gates were to be on any piece of currency than the penny would be the best one to put him on. I dont necessarily agree that he's the best person to put on money seeing as he has such an abundance, but he has impacted such a vast part of our world
Nice job on this one. Bill Gates is pretty out of the box person to consider for being on U.S currency. Only concern I saw in this arguement was the more specifics on what Micosoft has done, the mouse and keyboard was not Bill Gates idea... saving existed as well before him. But yes he has used these tools and simplified them in many ways to help us do more.
To have someone from our generation on the penny is great. The use of your personal experience and what his contributions to technology has done for you and many of us today adds to your argument that he would be a proper choice to replace licoln. This choice is relatable.
I am sorry to the writer, but I would have to disagree with your resoning behind putting Bill Gates on the U.S. Penny. First Bill Gates is not in anyway what america stands for. If anything I believe that the new technology has just made us lazier. We are afraid to write without spell check, we are afraid to travel without mapquesting it. Don't get me wrong, I think that Bill Gates is a very intellegent man that is nothing short of a genius and has make billions for himself, BUT has not done it in just the U.S.. Microsoft is used in many countries around the world hense' They are, "the World's Leading software". I believe that the person that is put on the penny should represent our country and have done things to better America, not just make billions of dollars and made alot of computer wiz's happy.
I think the idea of replacing bill Gates on the penny is not interesting. First of to remind you bill gates didn't invent computers :-). bill gates invent windows so when you were talking about computer in your paper you were off the topic.other than that, It was not bad.atleast you had a topic because I am still looking for one :-).
Yea right. Who really cares about Bill Gates. There are many great inventors out there such as Benjamin Franklin, who discovered electricity that without, you would not be able to use the computer. I don't think I need to go on and on about all the inventors and inventions. Bills Gates has been paid enough. Putting him on the penny or any form of currency for that matter would be meaningless.
Diffrent idea for sure. I don't see how he's done anything to change America short of giving people the world of information at their fingertips.
