If removing Lincolns face from the front of the penny was to ever occur, I believe that replacing his face with a picture of the Twin Towers would be something that should be considered.
I think that this would be a nice way to show honor and respect to the Twin Towers and also a way to say that we will never forget all of the lives that were lost that day and the brave heroism of all those that helped.
Although we have all become accustomed to seeing the penny with Lincolns face on it, I believe that many of us will be happy and pleased to see the Twin Towers in place of Lincoln’s face. He has been on the front of a penny for almost a century and most certainly he was a man that was honored. I don’t think that many people would be offended by not seeing his face on the penny much longer.
September 11 2001 was a horrible day and many lives were lost that day. Even til this day there are many families that still have questions and are still hurt and suffering for their lost ones. In looking at a penny that has a picture of the Twin Towers I think that it might help them to know that they are not alone and that not only them but also the entire country is still sad from what occured that day.

I had trouble following your arguement because of the run on sentences.
I liked this because i think almost everyone that would read it could agree, you cant argue those facts. I do however think that there were many other great tragedies that have occured in the US that have gomne widely un-noticed, since the WTC already has a commemorative coin, i would have given it to another disaster. Still though, interesting to read and very reader friendly.
I agree with the fact that we should have the twin towers on a U.S. coin but i dont feel that it should be the penny. the penny is the most least value coined there is. Both in money wise and the way people percieve it. I think that as well as putting the 50 states on each quarter we should put the twin towers or the statue of liberty.
Again, love this idea, and feel this one was well put together structure wise.
I'm not sure I'm thrilled with the ideal of the Twin Towers on a penny. I think for myself the constant memeory of that tragic day would be relived every time I look at a penny. Surely I'm not saying let's forget 9/11, but let's move on.
i think what you said about the twin towers and sep,11 being a horrible day for us all is real good. But would the families of those who lost their lives that day really want a penny to remind them of that terrible event every time they look at it?
This idea is a good one but i do agree with a previous commnet, lets not ever forget 9/11 but it is time to move on. we have so much 9/11 memorbilia that it is time to move on. this essay was still a good piece of writtingl it get the reader thinking
Loved this idea. Many people would agree with you.
This essay is not very orginized or developed. I think its a great idea it just needs some work. Nice job.
I agree 100% and what a great day to see this on the anniversary of 9/11. I think as much as it is on T.V. still we forget what actually happend that day. I feel that your argument was great, I think that being put on the penny would honor those 3000+ people who parished that day, but I think they could perhaps make it like a 3-D or have a light image in the background of Shanksville PA & the Pentagon, since the three of them make up 9/11 not just the towers. Great stuff writer.
This idea may spark great debate. On one hand we should remember this day. We should never forget those we lost not just in those towers. On the other hand the ones who lost members of their families may not want to be reminded of it each time they look at the penny. This one can go both ways.
